The construction team at Bouygues UK is happy to be updating you on our progress at Sir John Cass Red Coat project!
The site set up is
substantially completed and over the next month the demolition and groundworks will commence.
Once the demolition works have been completed we shall then commence with the groundworks. These works include excavations to form the new foundations for the 5 storey extension along the Walter Terrace elevation and also the new VLE on the Stepney Way elevation.
During this period we will be compeleting the temporary class rooms for the school , These temporary facilities are required to mitigate space lost to the school whilst we undertake the internal refurbishment works.
Going through to July and August and whilst the school is closed for the Summer holidays the concrete structure will be started for the new 5 storey extension and the internal refurbishment works will be started within the 5 storey school building. These works will include the provision of new mechanical and electrical services, new windows, floor finishes and decorations. The provision of new windows will necessitate the need for scaffolding to be erected to certain external areas of the school.
