The construction team at Bouygues UK is happy to be updating you on our progress at Sir John Cass Red Coat project!
The site set up is substantially completed and over the next month the ground works will be coming to an end
we are now commencing the ground works. These works include excavations to form the new foundations for the 5 storey extension along the Walter Terrace elevation which are almost complete and also the new VLE on the Stepney Way elevation are almost complete and the we will start the ground floor slab, and erecting a tower crane inside the 5 storey block.
During this period we will be completing the temporary class rooms for the school , These temporary facilities are required to mitigate space lost to the school whilst we undertake the internal refurbishment works which is coming to an end for phase 1 summer works.
Going through to September and whilst the school is open we will be doing the concrete structure ,we will be starting the new 5 storey extension and the VLE . These works will include the provision of new mechanical and electrical services, new windows, floor finishes and decorations. The provision of new windows will necessitate the need for scaffolding to be erected to certain external areas of the school.
