Project Description
St. Paul’s Way Community School will be a flagship new build school with facilities that benefit both the pupils and the wider community, including a public library, a theatre and a large public sports provision.
The school breaks down the common barriers between the community and the pupils by removing the unsightly fences and gates often seen surrounding schools. When the new school building is complete, it will provide secure access between the public and private realm, allowing the community easy access to the public functions from the street.
Designed for maximum educational flexibility, each of the classroom spaces can be changed easily into larger or smaller open plan areas.
The building is designed to minimise energy use and is designed to create only 12kg / CO2 / m2 which is 60% lower than the current regulations require. Furthermore, the school is designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of Excellent.
